Everyone's On The Same Page About Tommy Koenig!!
“HILARIOUS. HYSTERICAL. A STEADY STREAM OF FUN.” --LA Weekly
“A MASTER OF CARICATURE. HE’S A MAJOR TALENT.” --The New York Times
“A MAN OF 1000 FACES, 1000 VOICES AND 1000 LAUGHS.” --Chicago Tribune
WOW! What a show! Not your run of the mill “New York” style comedy show. A Broadway caliber show of Tommy’s life and our times growing up as a baby boomer filled with comedy, musical parody and (awe full) dancing. ”Read

You have got to go see this at the Herberger!!!!!! This was one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen! Tommy Koenig is 5 months younger than me, so his insight into all things "Boomer" was spot on. Whether you're from 1944 or 1964, believe me, he's got your number in humor, in pathos, in the music which goes from the fifties through the nineties.”Read
He struck just the right balance of wit and slapstick! His main talent lay in his incredible ability to morph into his characters and then back into himself at different ages! His impressions of the artists that made our generation’s dream; (I particularly liked Art Garfunkel in a bozo wig or Tina Turner in fishnets) were incredible! My favorite song was a Springsteen parody, "Bought in the USA". His totally irreverent skewering of politicians and personalities made me roar (think TV evangelists and remember I' m from the home of Oral Roberts!) He made me remember things I hadn't thought about in years! His adult perspective looking back gave me new insight into things I'd never pondered, just accepted from a child's point of view. I enjoyed EVERY single second!
Whether you're from Rockaway Beach like Tommy or Tulsa, OK like me, we all lived it; we all shared it; go see it ...wherever his tour takes him! -Sherry S.-Tulsa, OK
“I had such an enlightened experience tonight. I was overcome with joy for life! I want to explore my soul. I wanted to cry. It was so cathartic. Tommy, you understand...” -Pat M., Sparta, NJ
My husband and I saw Baby Boom Baby Sunday at The Herberger in Phoenix. I haven't been out of the house much for several months other than medical appointments, so I was really psyched to get out and see the show. ”Read
Add to that, the fact I've been a musician all my life. Well...you had me at "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands". I LOVED everyone singing along...knowing it was bringing back a lot of memories. It was a beautiful moment. Followed by “Que Sera, Sera”....it was just so joyful! (Insert additional factoid here...I'm also a "retired" Minister...still young but retired due to health). Anyway...you were hitting all my "favorites" buttons.
From there, the quick changes, spot on commentary and satire, heartfelt messages, and flawless delivery of incredibly creative, intelligent, material with perfect characterizations......and so hysterically funny I laughed till I cried and nearly fell out of my wheelchair! It was THE BEST MEDICINE!!!
Then when you did your "Medicinal alphabet", I was blown away! 100 minutes at least straight through is very impressive. Your passion and joy shine through and you PROVE that "funny" doesn't have to mean vulgar. Too often it becomes the "easy way out" but there's no comparison. Top notch, intelligent, thoughtful humor such as yours is the BEST. It also lingers in people's minds because you touch on things that are real and relatable to all of us.
I also really enjoyed all your characters, but your Bee Gees and Madonna REALLY had me in tears!!! Absolutely hysterical.
So THANK YOU for a delightful performance and a wonderful "breakout of the house!!!" We couldn't have enjoyed it more....(unless you kept going of course!)
By the way...Congratulations to you and your Brown Eyed Girl. What a wonderful story! We wish you MUCH happiness together! Enjoy your stay here in Phoenix.
Sincerely, Rev. Carrie Ann Therese and Dennis F.-Phoenix, AZ
P.S. My one regret is we had another couple set to join us that got the flu and had to cancel and we had no one to share the tix with last minute. We felt bad because it was so good and they would've loved it as much as we did! Keep sharing your laughter with world...it’s such a gift! Especially these days!

“What a show! I brought two friends tonight and they were blown away! Talented Tommy knows no bounds! ”Read
“This is the history of your culture for the last 70 years” -a Polish tourist,

"A couple of weeks ago, Jan & I went to a one-man performance of Tommy Koenig's play ‘Baby Boom Baby’ at the State Theatre in Austin that was hilarious. It was a walk down memory lane of a guy describing his life through the music of the decades. Besides the unique, exciting show we witnessed in Austin, it has played in New York State and gotten great reviews." -Dick W., Austin, TX
“My name is S...... I'm twelve years old, and my mother, grandmother and I came out to see your show last Friday. While your show was very entertaining, I also found it inspiring. ”Read
